New milestone in the life of the Ménesi Campus

2022-07-20 13:19:08

The University’s new campus under construction at Ménesi Street has received the building permit.

The building complex is owned by the Maecenas Universitatis Corvini Foundation, and it will be used by the citizens of the University, who can occupy the new education and innovation centre after the completion of the renovation, probably in the second half of 2023.

The Campus, which is set up on the basis of community planning, will house not only new types of education collaboration and project spaces, but a dormitory, professors’ apartments, and community, representation, sports and recreation facilities, too. With the park around the new Campus, Corvinus will finally have a green environment, too.

Following the spectacular demolition, the construction works can also be followed from the Pest side, as the frame of the building stands out from the side of the Gellért Hill, and it will soon receive its ‘dress’.

Internal designers went through a long design process to produce the plans that suit the complexity and the rich functions of the building, and the designs will soon be shared openly. It was possible to involve students in the work, too, for example in the design of the decoration covering the wall surfaces of the community areas of the dormitory tower.

In parallel with the design process, the development of the new professional contents planned for the Campus is going on, as a result of the work of innovation work groups. The centre of the interdisciplinary content development is data science, sustainability, design and story-telling.
