The János Bolyai Research Scholarship competition was announced by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in February this year. The aim is to support researchers under 45 years of age with a scientific qualification who have not yet obtained an MTA doctorate. Established in 1997, the prestigious prize is intended to recognise and encourage outstanding research and development achievements by young researchers and to help them achieve a doctorate.
Two of the 156 recipients of this year’s award are professors and researchers from Corvinus University of Budapest.
Dr. Marianna Eisenberg-Nagy has been an Associate Professor in the Department of Operations Research and Actuarial Sciences since 2020. She is a member of the János Bolyai Mathematical Society and the Hungarian Operations Research Society.
Dr. Beáta Paragi received her Dr.habil degree at Corvinus in 2018 and is currently Associate Professor in the Department of International Relations. While her earlier research focused on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and international aid, the Bolyai-project aims to investigate the digital dimension of the relations between donors and recipients, with a particular focus on the impacts of digital transformation in the context of aid and migration and the considerations of donor states and aid agencies regarding the autonomy and rights of beneficiaries (people in need, refugees) vis-à-vis aid organizations.
Congratulations for your outstanding achievements!
