QS ranking: Corvinus has the best Hungarian business programmes

Since last year, Corvinus business studies and management programme have moved up in the QS world ranking to 251-300th place, still highly the first among Hungarian business programmes, while the only other Hungarian similar programme was ranked 300 places lower. Corvinus also improved its ranking in the broad subject area Social Sciences and Management.

Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), the internationally respected UK-based research firm, has recently published its 2024 rankings by subject. The organisation evaluated more than 16,000 programmes at 1,559 higher education institutions in almost 100 countries in five broad subjest areas, including 54 disciplines. They took into account the citation rate of academic works attributable to the institution, employer opinions, the reputation of the institution in the academic world, the number of international students and the qualification of the academics. 

In the QS ranking of economic and social science area, Corvinus has improved compared to last year, coming 389th, compared to 401st-450th last year. Regarding the other Hungarian programmes, ELTE remained in 401-450th place and this year another university made the list, with BME debuting in 501-550th place. 

In the ranking of the narrow subject the Business Studies and Management category, two Hungarian universities are ranked: Corvinus came in 251-300, improving on last year’s 301-350, while BME slipped to 551-600, down from 501-550 last year. In the category of economics and econometrics, Corvinus is the only Hungarian university to be ranked in the category of economics and econometrics, with Corvinus ranking 401-450 this year.
