Citizen development, new computational mathematics, new dementia screening: all thanks to artificial intelligence (AI), revealed today's article of the leading economic newsportal in Hungary about Corvinus' unique AI transformation conference. Péter Baranyi, our research professor, the main organizer of the event, also talked about the behind-the-scenes secrets in it.

Several world-renowned professors – including Corvinus researchers Yurii Nesterov and Péter Baranyi, as well as Thomas Davenport and Helen Meng – gave presentations on various issues of artificial intelligence at the conference held on 24-25 October at the Corvinus Gellért Campus (https://scitope.com/ait24/). In addition, at the accompanying technology exhibition, concrete business negotiations took place between Hungarian AI development startups, university research groups, representatives of the Shenzhen Research Institute and Chinese technology companies.

Some quotes from the article:

The main question is not what changes AI transformation will require from companies, but who will carry out this transformation. The process will be much faster if it doesn’t rely solely on IT professionals, but more and more people in other departments of companies are becoming programmers using AI solutions,

said Thomas Davenport, a professor at Babson College.

The theory of optimization provides AI with models and methods that can significantly increase its predictive power,

emphasized our research professor Yuri Nesterov.

With the help of AI, the study of speech can open a kind of window to the health of our brains,

said Helen Meng, a professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

We want to build a bridge between Shenzhen and Budapest in terms of education, research, incubation of innovative enterprises. There was a significant oversubscription from domestic development teams and startups for the exhibition, from which the Chinese side selected which teams and enterprises it would like to get to know better. The representatives of Shenzhen tech companies mapped out which Hungarian startups can accept orders from them, and on the other hand, what larger Hungarian companies could be potential customers for their developments, such as their AI-based solutions,

explained Péter Baranyi, our research professor, the main organizer of the event.
