The Department of Public Policy organized the annual conference of IRSPM, one of the largest global scientific organizations in public management and public policy in the Spring of 2023. This was an extraordinary opportunity for the researchers and students of Corvinus University to get acquainted with the most recent debates and the leading scholars of the field. Below, one of our PhD students, Abdul-Manaf Rabiu shares his experiences.
“The 2023 IRSPM Conference was one of my best experiences since I had started my studies in the field of public policy. The conference – hosted by Corvinus University of Budapest – attracted a diverse audience of public sector executives, policy analysts, academics, and practitioners worldwide. The conference featured expert speakers who shared insights on various trends in public management, governance, and policy-making.
One of the best aspects of the conference was the opportunity to network with professionals from different backgrounds, which included sharing ideas and experiences on managing public services during a time of significant change. For example, during one of the sessions, I had the opportunity to learn about innovative practices in transforming public services in a low-resource environment which was particularly relevant to the work I intend to do soon.
Another highlight of the conference was the opportunity to participate in interactive workshops and discussions led by experienced professionals. I particularly enjoyed the workshop on administrative barriers, which had practical tips on reducing bureaucracy effectively within public sector organizations.
Overall, the conference was an excellent opportunity to learn, network, and engage with thought leaders and practitioners in public management. The experience left me energized and motivated to apply the insights and knowledge gained to my work to drive meaningful impact in the communities I serve.”
