The Master of Business Development held a professional day again

On 24 May 2024, for the second time in a row, a full-day professional and team-building event for students of the Master of Business Development took place. The students were able to enjoy a wide range of experiences: from Péter Balogh's startup presentation to a pizza joint, from GE Vernova's lean management workshop to a guided wine tasting, the team of the Institute of Entrepreneurship and Innovation prepared a rich programme.

The busy day was opened by a Start Your Business event organised by AmCham and the Hungarian Venture Capital Association, where successful entrepreneurs and venture capitalists shared their experiences with the students. Petya Balogh (founder of STRT, former co-founder of NNG and shark of the show Among the Sharks) spoke about the short innovation cycles of startups, Kristóf Szalay (co-founder of TURBINE AI) about his early entrepreneurial experiences and lessons learned, followed by a panel discussion where students could ask questions about starting and financing a business.

After the Master’s students received their diplomas for extra achievements outside the classroom, we also spoke to some of the alumni of the Enterprise Development Alumni Mentoring Programme about the challenges of career planning. After some well-deserved pizza (provided to the tables by the Youth Entrepreneurship Association and GE Vernova), the Enterprise Development Club, a student organisation directly linked to the degree, introduced itself and organised team-building games for the students.

The afternoon programme focused on lean management practices, which were presented by GE Vernova colleagues in a very practical and playful way. The day was rounded off with a wine tasting led by Dr. Attila Fiáth, where the students had the opportunity to compare and improve their knowledge of local wines in a friendly competition. Thanks to the varied programme, the nearly 70 students who attended the event not only had fun, but also gained fresh knowledge and strong community ties. We’ll do it again next year!
