Student organization or academic society?
A student organization is such a community, whose members are united by their common interest. That interest can be for example, tourism, finance, arts and many others. As a member of a student organization, one has the chance to take part in many professional and social programs, where they might form lifelong friendships. At Corvinus nearly 40 student organizations are in operation, so almost everyone can find the one that suits them best.
The seven academic societies operating at the university are also based on the same interest and mentality. They could be a great option for students from the countryside or those who seek independence, since next to the membership, housing is assured. Cohabitation enables the forming of a close-knit community, where members can rely on each other and develop together. Professional events are held in a more small-size, formal setting like courses.
Admissions
Most student organizations are expecting the applications of new members at the beginning of every semester, while the admissions period of academic societies is usually held in spring semesters. The way of application and the due date varies by organization. In most cases a two-round admission process happens: applying online by sending in a resume and a motivation letter or by filling in a questionnaire, and after that one must attend a personal interview as well. The process ends with an orientation camp or other integrating programs, where newly welcomed students become official members and can get to know senior members of the organizations as well.

If you like any of these communities, you might want to start following them on Facebook and Instagram, so that you gain a broader picture of what they are doing and to not miss out on the most important details about their admissions.
