The V4 research project “Forecasting factors influence on climatic changes as a part of Sustainable Development Goals 2030” achieved its goal – with the participation of Corvinus’ researcher from the Department of Sustainability Management and Environmental Economics – that was finding new solutions to the fight against climate change and raising awareness of environmental protection within and outside the V4 region, published in the research report. Changing climate causes weather breakdowns and natural disasters.
Therefore, project partners developed methodology of integral assessment of the potential for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Partner universities – WSB University, National Technical University of Ukraine, University of Žilina, VŠB-Technical University of Ostrava, Pan-European University Prague, and Corvinus University of Budapest – identified the factors and their influence that will allow necessary actions to be taken by NGOs, local authorities and citizens from the V4 and Ukraine to stop the negative impact on the environment.
In Hungary, the non-manufacturing sectors, the impact-intensive activities, and the social welfare and distribution attributes should be considered for policy makers in the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, with the addition of the emissions from the energy sector and waste incineration.
